ABOUT
Originally hailing from Blue Hill, Maine, my journey led me to life as a military wife, a mother of three and opportunities to live overseas. I became a professional income tax practitioner in 2002, and because of my experiences as a military spouse, I specialized in tax preparation for US Military service members, retirees and affiliates. I have a wealth of personal and professional experience handling the often complicated circumstances unique to the military family.
My insight and knowledge relevant to the military community have helped not only those similar to my own situation but also those who have multiple assets or complicated situations. I also have prepared taxes and more for civilians and contractors working overseas.
As the tax industry and IRS tax codes have evolved and become more complex, I have needed to evolve in my practice, with a new focus on tax resolution services. As an IRS Enrolled Agent, I am authorized to represent taxpayers before the IRS and ready to assist those taxpayers with daunting issues.
My background includes bank operations, payroll, tax preparation stateside and overseas, and public accounting. I started J.D. Voyer Tax & Business Services (formerly known as Voyer Tax Services) in 2006. As an IRS Enrolled Agent, I am listed on the IRS Directory of Active Enrolled Agents Listing. I am also a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (APIB) and the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP).
Now that my husband has retired after 30+ years in the Navy, we reside in Maine again. I am continuing my mission of helping as many as I can with an often scary and complicated fact of life. Whether you’re an everyday person, a small business, or come from a similar military background, I want to help.
